Cool Today's ride thread

Figure a place to bullshit about today's ride without clogging up the video thread. Today I did a two lapper at Huber woods, one with my buddy Mike V and the second solo. The first we did pretty easy but V wasnt feeling lap no. two so I took it pretty hard solo. Damn camera battery dies in the middle of the second lap and I wasn't carrying a spare. I was pretty happy with the results, it was the hardest I had pushed myself in a while.

I rode Ontario County Park in Naples NY today. Green and violet loops both ways, and the brown downhill trail. Blacktop back to the car. 65* and sunny today. Is that Mike Vallely your riding with?

Where is Naples? My usually keen geography sense is off today?

South of Rochester, western Finger lakes. I'm gonna try to ride Allaire State Park this Thanksgiving when I visit my parents. I haven't rode there in almost 20 years.

Very cool. I'm helping my uncle redo a '48 Mihms Jersey Speed Skiff that he wants to bring to the Thousand Islands antique boat show next year.

Wish I could ride. It's been snowing and the high today is 7. Way to old for me to ride.

I'm waiting for my gopro battery to charge them I'm headed up to Hartshorne solo in a bit.

edit. Turned out to be a great ride even without my buddies. Really pushed it and did 13.25 miles with the ride in and out. IIRC the ride was 1:38 burned 1277 calories, max heartrate was 188, avg. heartrate was 159

It was a chilly day for shorts that's for sure. Between my legs not feeling it and feeling extra fat I only did a quickie one lapper in Huber. Need to score some bibs or pants.

Ha, I rode in jeans and thermals today, 32* and 2 inches of snow. You wont catch my fat ass in tights. I only lasted about an hour.

I have a set of fleece pants, but they stop none of the wind and only some of the cold. Trust me I hate looking like a road weenie but they might be onto something with their pants

The road weenie pants are the shit. I generally ride in some under armor type tights and some goretex pants to block the wind. But the fleece lined pants I bought are great, be watching for deals from Jenson, price point and chain reaction. Definitely worth buying if they're around or under $50.

Great day for a ride but of course today is the day we leave for Rehobath beach... and we don't come back 'til the end of the week when the weather is supposed to shit the bed again.

Didn't get a ride in today as much as I wanted to. The Mrs.'s stainless steel prep table came today so I had to move the bikes out of the kitchen. I got the nod to hang them near the black wrought iron railing in the livingroom. It's a good thing we're both short.

Quick, out of shape one lapper in Huber today. I think I've finally gotten it through my exceedingly thick skull that riding once every two weeks isn't gonna keep me in shape or help me lose weight. Reality sucks.

I realized that I use my brakes way to much on a normal ride!

Did two laps in Huber today with a helluva west wind blowing. The only time I was cold was on the road riding into the woods and then after the woods riding home. I forgot how much wind the trees stop. Surprisingly only one bad wet area after all the rain we had the last couple days.

I had it on my old phone but never downloaded it onto my S4. It seemed to work ok with stuff on the road and off. To be honest I don't know why I don't have it on the new phone.

I just started using it. It is pretty cool. Keeps track of miles on the bike. Keeps me pushing hard to up my rank on the trails I ride, but also makes me realize how slow I am!

I forgot to download it today before my ride, I remembered as I was pulling up the first hill in the woods. I did just shy of 12 miles today at Hartshorne and it kicked my ass. I guess I overestimated how bad a shape I was in. I thought after a few Huber rides I would be ok but I was sucking wind on every other climb. I think the only reason I finished was there was a ton of hot chicks walking/hiking/running/riding today and I couldn't NOT finish and uphold some semblance of self esteem.

Rode almost 13 miles on Saturday evening. Sunday before work I went for a quick 10 mile ride, and on the way down I went over the bars!! Made for a long day of climbing through an attic!!

Looks like ran for the next few days so I won't be riding.
