messed with my K2 attack today

I see this section of the forum doesnt see much traffic... hell, I've never looked before either.

Started messing with my bike that I bought in 2000 today. It's a K2 Attack 2.0 that I paid over a thousand for if I remember correctly. Bought it after having two Giant's that I liked as well but wanted to go a little higher up. My brother has been using this thing for a while and it needed a few things fixed up on it so I decided with the weather getting nicer I'd like to start riding again.

I put on a new seat and new grips. Put new batteries in my LED blinking tail light. Some of the gearing needed to be adjusted and I took care of that as well, cleaned and lubed it all up, and filed some of the knicks on the front sprockets to keep the chain from hanging... trued up the wheels a little too. I found my bag thing that hangs under the seat but I couldnt find my radio so I'm on a mission for a mountable mp3 player with speakers or maybe just a decent little FM with speakers to keep me occupied. I refuse to wear headphones and be cut off from hearing the outside world.

While I was at the bike shop I was amazed at how bright and small the new LED headlights are... cheap too. Saw one I may pick up for $29.00 that recharges by USB that seemed pretty cool. I was amazed to see that some bikes actually have hyraulic disc brakes now and tubless tires I guess I am way out of the loop.

at least I still have my dice valve stem caps

$12!?!! Man, what a deal. My daughter has that exact bike. I found it on craigslist and paid five times that. It's quite heavy (most kid's bikes are), but she rides the crap out of it and it has held up nicely.
Looking to move her up to a 24" Kona Shred or similar. If anyone sees one..

Good to see your old K2 gettin some love too!

Yeah... thought it was funny... I imagined them using the price gun thinking, "Huffy, $25. Murray, $25, Huffy, $25. Gary Fisher?? Wtf is that? $12."

She is about topped on on it... she hasn't quite got shifting down yet for big hills. Want to get Brenda a full suspension and daughter can move up to moms bike... just want her to get the rear down before getting another shifter.

My K2 has a ton of miles on it... I've really enjoyed it. Let it sit idle for too long :/

New chain, derailure, wheels, front tire, and pulled water bottle holders since we got 3 camelbacks.
The wheels have flat spokes. Things are supossedly $200 dollar wheels... I dunno. They look cool though.

My dad's collection... drop my bike off with him and he upgrades random things from bikes he messes with for a hobby

Cool set up. That would be nice to be able to swap out parts like that.

Got little dude another coaster. Seat was too high on that white one.... probably be able to pedal before his feet could touch the ground.... so git him this instead...
Our kid hauls ass on this one I picked up off amazon for his 2nd birthday. It had the lowest seat height I could find so he was able to start as early as possible. Bikes are the best possesion a kid can have as far as I'm concerned.

Kettler Speedy Verso. $65
