School me on automatic 's

Never had an od nor computer controlled slushbox...

Lately I see a not of h8te for manuals.
Are manual valve bodies and t.converters now better than a clutch???

Or is it just the cool kids talking?

edit
So far everyone 's whining about 3 pedals and driving at the same time ..

I have an AW4 with a Radesigns Shifter. No computer.

It is the single best mod I have done to the buggy. Everything is better. Technical rocks, snow wheeling, even driving around the yards with the kids.

It gets tricky when you need 3 feet sometimes, that’s why I went back to an auto.

As long as you keep the fluid temp in check, automatics are a great choice.

Packaging and heat, seem a minus.

No roll backs on climbs, No double footing, allows you to be more technical and succeed on harder climbs, no need for super deep gears in diffs or multiple T cases because of the Torque converter, less shock load to the drive train, wife enjoys driving now, etc...

Interesting, I see some of those as benefits, however can you elaborate how a t.c. Will replace a doubler ect. ,( as you stated)
In allowing deep gearing ???
Everything else sounds good.
I am thinking of selling off the 2 yotas and building a new dd crawler...
