Bgcj5 I am running a ford t-18 adapted to a dana 300. It should work out great as both the motor and tranny is ford so u can use all stock parts. Make sure u get the 164 tooth flywheel from and F150 or 250 u can't use any of the mustang clutch stuff.

If you wnet with the ford one and a ford Np435 you would not need to purchase an adapter.

(not sure of the input differences between jeep and ford 20's)
use a 435 and either get the adapter from AA to run a jeep dana 20, or use a 203-205 doubler setup, which could be done with a ford 203 (bolts right up to the tailhousing of the 435) and a dodge or GM 205 to get the pass side drop required for the chevy axle...

Yeah, I've 3 different Chiltonís for my 77 and not one helped me at all. I even found differences between Helms and Mitchell with teh Helms being the correct one. (It should as it's just a Ford re-print)

Thanks for the complement!

Then buy or barrow the Probst book and read it, a lot! "Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control : All Ford/Lincoln-Mercury Cars and Light Trucks 1988 to 1993" by Charles O. Probst. Only 28 dollars. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...229428-7720961

Or a great second option and worth it's wieght in gold is the large and well documented Helms wire manual. $18.50 http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2...PFM7WQBB7G44DD

And Mitchell wiring manual, from local library or Auto store. Plus the Haynes and Chilton books

Also my draft of my wiring page might help, but it's geared towards Mustangs

offroadr35 you can use a C6 to a 203/205 doubler. I have a 5.0HO to C4 to D20 in my EB with dual 60s and 38.5s. I would definitely consider the D20 to be my weak link. I'll probably just go atlas eventually.

Excellent info! I have a '93 Mustang 5.0 and an '86 Mustang harness with all the smog goodies - I had done a Mass Air conversion on the '86 before I wrecked it. Getting ready to do the same thing. I'm bookmarking your page and I'll give you feedback as I proceed. I probably won't be starting until summer though.

5.0 H.O. engine swap???

I have a 89 Mercury Grand Marquis with a fuel injected 5.0 H.O. that was given to me, it is wrecked. The motor runs like a clock. I just purchased a 73 CJ-5 that will be stretched 13" and put on a 81 CJ-5 frame SOA that was also strecthed 13". The plan was to use my 3/4 ton Suburban drivetrain but the 350 is not fuel injected (and it works damn good for hunting). What do I need to make the 5.0 swap? What are my tranny and transfer case options? I will be running 60's front and rear. The front is a passenger side drop (GM). Some help would greatly be appreciated. I am getting my rear axle tomorrow and am getting to the point of installing the drivetrain on the frame!!!
