kirbyiv Grab a Kevco, throw a skid under it mounted to the chassis and be done with it.

Just check to make sure the seal surface on the pan is perfectly flat before you mount it.

HardcorewannabeXJ x3 on changing to to an f-body car pan. You'll need to modify the pickup a little bit, and cut some "slots" to allow the oil to move to the rear of the pan easier for climbs (which adversely effects going down steep things as well, but where would you want the oil pressure?) Or you could buy a Kevko.

LOL... I would break that thing in my driveway. Kevko will make building a chassis mounted skid a bunch easier. Fit and finish is .......ok? Wish somebody would make a good quality unit.

whypave The picture of the whole in his pan looks like a truck pan which are about 8" deep. So a 5" kevko pan would be a good option but you could also go with an ls2 pan or f-body pan if you don't want to go to an external oil filter.

New engine for this car and the pan sits a bit lower than the subframe making it a little tricky to add one.

Gunmetalcruz engine skid needs to be attached to the chassis not the motor IMO otherwise all you will be doing in the future is changing broken auto trans cases when you hit the motor and the trans doesn't move.

chris demartini Never seen such an item. The cast pans are fragile. It would probably be a better idea to build it into your chassis.

6.0 Skidplate Needed

Does anyone make a bolt on skidplate to cover the cast oil pan on a 6.0? I noticed there's a few good size threaded holes at the bottom of the block I figured could be used for mounting.
