NOTPRETTY Thanks guys. Is a 1993 truck the same as 1989. I just learned the Chereokee is 1993...?

21/23 spline??

Rookie question...,

89 xj with 4.0 automatic. It has a 231j t-case. What spline count do I likely have 23 or 21? Are all automatics one type?

And, just so I have this right...we are talking about the transmission input on the t-case, right? We are not talking about the number of splines on the t-case rear output, right?

I need an SYE kit or a 231 with one already installed. This chain I'm betting is worn.
