the frog no back spacing, at least with the stock high steer arms.
check out the Chevy Van Dura 4x4(pathfinder) for example.
Dana 44 with 16" rim that has next to nothing BS,
and it works fine, not even close to touching.

ErikB Most hi-steer arms I've seen aren't anywhere near the rim. Its the old stock low-steer arm that is the limiting factor unless you cut it off...

Rudezuk In a D44 with high steer arms....you should be safe with about 4" of BS.

Nope!

Depends on the arm... who made it and what angle they set it at.

2" should be fine course "standard" seem to work for most people.
