It would be cool if they made a 3.5 ecoboost super duty, or heck even a 5.0 ecoboost
Even the first gen 2.7EB with the 6 speed will be a pretty even match for D45's 5.3; a second gen 2.7EB with the 10 speed will walk away from a similar body style and geared 14-18 GM 5.3 with either the 6 or 8 speed tranny.

The new 7.3 should shake things up.
The 7.3 sounds like it's going to be bad ass. I still think a 3.5 F250 would be sweet for those who are just pushing the limits of a half ton, but would like to get better than 12 mpg.

D45 Insurance said it's a total loss

There's a discrepancy between the truck being a long bed and a short bed. It's a long bed but state farm has it as a SHORT

I have to prove its a long bed before they discussed payout

We bought my wife a 15 2.7 a year ago. It had 25k and now has almost 55k. It gets pretty respectable mpgs for a full size that can still tow ~8k. Lie o meter usually says around 18 mpg with mostly town driving. Last highway trip it said over 20. We really like it so far.

MNorby From my friends experience get a 6.4 ram with 4.10s and not 3.73s. My 2015 Silverado 6.0 truck will out tow his 2014 6.4 Ram even though I am 50+ HP lower on paper. The GM has 4.10s and a lower 1st in the tranny though so getting the load moving is a big play there. Watch the TFL trucks or whatever they are called for the IKE gauntlet test.

ky scrambled I know three guys that went from Duramax's to the 6.4. They LOOOOVE the 6.4. Keep in mind that they LOOOOOVED the Duramax when they had them also. That's how most folks are I think.

Asking which one to get will give you opinions all over the place, and everyone has a buddy who has either had to take it to the dealer a million times or who has a million miles on it and never changed the oil. The big 3 all make a similar capable, similar quality, similar priced vehicle.

If you've always liked Fords and don't have a bad taste in your mouth over what the last one did to you get another Ford, you will like it better than the Ram. If you hate your current Ford and it did you wrong, get the Ram you'll like it better than the Ford.

D45 Ford 6.2 vs Ram 6.4

Not sure which is better, but I prefer the Ram overall
05-21-2019 07:18 PM
YotaAtieToo I hate to break it to you, but all the brands are getting cheaper. Going to a fiat to get a more quality truck is laughable. Only guy I know with a new 6.4 2500 had to take it back to the dealer twice in the first few hundred miles.
