Not only do I want sun in the evenings when I get off, I want the dark in the morning. There is nothing worse than sun waking me up when I want to sleep a little later on my day off, or before my alarm wakes me for work. Oh, and I'd rather see headlights than have a nuclear fusion ball staring me in the face when I have to drive east in the morning. DST forever. |

I'm with Florida on this. No idea why people would want to get rid of DST--put us on it all year. I want sun in the evening. And to all the people talking about "get up an hour earlier!"--I wish it was that simple. If I came to the office an hour earlier, people would still schedule meetings at 4:30. So, I'd just work a longer day. You guys must all have some awesome flex-time schedule, or work for yourselves. |

Man when you would try to explain to a trucking company that we were an hour behind was like talking gibberish. Then there's the drivers, most of them understood but a few of them would lose there shit, so much so that I had a couple instances where I thought they were gonna take a swing at me. I just thought of this. Think about all the dumbass mouth breathers Disney World is gonna have to deal with and try and explain this too, good luck with that. |

![]() It's a real bitch working with companies across the US and around the world when DST isn't something you follow. One customer of ours in particular won't change the winter 8 am meeting time... so I won't be on that call again until Nov. They'll just have to deal with my interpretation of the notes that get sent to me until then, just like every other year. |

I have worked grave yards for 6 years so it has never made a god damn difference to me. I wish they would get rid of the bull shit. I have more important things to remember than this confusing shit. I wish business would just adopt winter and summer hours to adjust for the time the sun comes up. This wise old Indian gets it> https://me.me/i/when-told-the-reason...e-old-12310068 |

I try to shed my prejudice that Florida has matching average heat, humidity, age, and IQ (mid-80s), then they pull shit like this. If you want year-round DST, get the fuck up an hour earlier. You shouldn't have to "fool" people into it. That's Floritarded. ![]() Daylight saving time is a bullshit jerkoff for bullshit jerkoffs. I say end it. |

FUCK DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME. I've personally never liked it, and other than having "more" daylight in the evening there really isn't any real advantages. If you go look there's several studies that show that energy savings from DST don't really happen, and a national study that I read that showed some evidence of savings said that regional climates likely has more effect on energy savings than DST. Now that said here's my favorite DST story. Here in Indiana we didn't adopt DST until 2006, and because of that communities along the eastern state line that overlapped the state line always had some confusion with people forgetting the time difference. Well my buddy's grandfather was a cantankerous old fucker and a pretty respectable farmer, he lived on Stateline Road between Ind. and Ohio and thought daylight savings time was goddamned ignorant. So sometime in the late 80's, one spring he set his clocks forward 30 minutes and left them there YEAR ROUND. When I asked him about it a few years later he launched into a profanity laced rant about ignorant politicians and their "fucking genius ideas", and ended it by saying I couldn't ever remember when I had to deal with DST(he had more important shit to remember), and now he was either just 30 mins early or late and if people didn't like it he quit associating with them. FUCKIN GENIUS I TELL YA |
