Oh and my FAWKING 9 inch third member is broken. I just wanted to get the spider nests out of it. Previous owner either dropped it hard one time or some broke shit. It also wasnít 3.89 gears it was 3.70 based my MY math. I could be wrong.
You know what really helps to fix that 9 inch? Toyota

I always need to go back and read it which is funny because I find it similar to mine. I still make jokes and get the "yeah just without me" response. I also see how little "normal" people drink compared to me and I'm still waiting for the guy who drinks too much to show up to the party and he never does for some reason. It's like fight club where you never see Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in the same room at the same time. Right now I'm Edward Norton. Brad Pitt hasn't been around in a while...but occasionally his influence on making stupid decisions like "let us purchase a project" comes through.

I was the same way. It's taken me until this month to sit down on the couch and feel okay with doing "nothing" but watching TV. Two nights ago I was up watching Four Wheeler TV (recorded so no commercials) until probably 11:30 then woke up around 4am thinking "great. today is going to SUCK" because of how little sleep I had. WAY easier than I expected and WAY easier than doing it hung over.

Since it's V-Day I spent about $80 on the wife because I'd have blown that on beer and I'd already put a few bucks in savings after buying axles. Plus I got her a gift and she didn't get me one. I didn't even have to play the "oh you don't have to get me something. I just got you this because..." card.

It was kind of odd seeing all the $25 Eclipse Beers I'd have been wanting to buy sit on the shelf yesterday when I bought the wife some Prosecco for an upcoming spa day, or for whenever she wants to have mimosas. I was just walking around eyeballing all the beer thinking "oh I'd buy that. Oh that's a good one too. OH SHIT A 2016 BCBS BARLEYWINE!!!!" and I never had that itch/urge/craving to buy one and sit in the truck or the garage or tell the wife "well I've been doing good. It's just ONE. For a special occasion." I guess every day without alcohol is my special occasion.

EDIT:

I was probably drunk when I wrote that. I understood what you mean. I think all of us are realizing that 7:00 is when we'd start drinking heavily for the night because there wasn't enough time to do anything. NOW we can put 2-3 hours of work in and get 6-12 hours of work done during the week instead of wasting the time drinking beer talking about how there isn't time. It's literally the same as hearing "This is General Chit Chat. No one here wheels."

Congrats man.

I ve been following your other thread. Good luck on the job search.

Your headed the right direction, ignore the BS distractions. Always amazes me how people will shit on someone for a Deuce even after they turn their lives around. Especially since I know at least a dozen cops who consistently drive over the limit on their off time then turn around and lock people up for the same thing.

I cant practice photography, try and learn how to put a ford 9 inch front and rear on an XJ, run, hike, do weekend trips to places, keep the house cleaned up so the wife and I don't have to all weekend, AND brew beer. It was mostly me being too lazy to just post the stuff. I know it's going to take forever to sell even at the "fair" prices I'm putting stuff up for sale at. Even my step father stopped brewing as much with his new hobby of working on his camaro.

After trying to do as much as I'm trying to do I don't have a problem relaxing. I have a problem trying to find time to do it. Even this week has been filled with trying to study for my HAM radio license test this weekend. Yeah it should be easy and I'm sure I'd blow it off with a few beers each night if I was still drinking then wonder why it was so hard to pass when everyone talks about how they passed 100% first time.

I should start going back to the gym. I just got the idea to convert a 9 inch to a steering axle and looking at prices for things I'm not sure I need is starting to become expensive. I need a drink just to recover from sticker shock.

Best time to start (quit?) is yesterday. I think I'm pulling up on 9 months soon. I kind of keep going like "hell yeah I can do this. Look how far I've come." Once you give up alcohol and see how much people just "have" to have it you might laugh. I was laughing at the wedding last week thinking of how may people are drinking too much "because it's a wedding" and back to Bill Cosby talking about drinking and "I deserve this. I worked hard all week."

Isn't it better coming home sore from the gym and waking up feeling better than it was going to be drunk and waking up worn out before the day starts?

PhantomTweak I quit drinking when I was still in the Corps. I worked the 11 PM to 7 AM shift, and we got off for the weekend Friday morning. The crew and I would meet at someone's house, and drink beer and eat pizza.
One Friday morning, we were at a house 1/2 block from mine. Half a block, mind you. I got lost on the way home. Cop found me 8 blocks away, walking down the middle of the road, singing at the top of my lungs.
He was nice enough, and just brought me home. I wandered in and went to bed for the day. When I woke up, and my now ex told me what had happened, I decided I better quit entirely. My problem is that when I drink, I don't stop.

Anyway, that was back in 83. I've had a little since, shot of bourbon here, like once every couple of years, some eggnog there, again, every few years. Heck, I bought a fifth of Jim Beam 15 years ago, and still have more than 3/4 of the bottle full.

Keep at it all. It can be tough, but the rewards are more than worth it!
