A 2wd SRW with a traction aid is a much nicer daily driver.

If the truck is lifted, or you don't mind lifting or modding it to fit 37" tires, it would be geared just like stock tires with 3.55s. Pull the rear fenders (or swap bed) and run stock H1s all around on your current axles.

If you were keeping the 4.10's I would just swap front hubs to SRW and throw wheels and tires on it, the rear is wider than front sure but it doesnt look all that odd compared to most trucks where the front is wider than rear.
If you want 3.55's then your looking full axle swap but look around on C-list or local junk yards and grab a matching pair and swap them, sell stock axles to recoup some cash. The 1st gen dually trucks dont have a huge rear flare so you might be able to keep it or remove it depending on wheel and tire setup you go with and preference on looks.

|Elwenil||Buy a SRW truck. It's not just the axles, if you have a bed, it is also different with much larger wheel openings. the swap can be done, but if you want a smaller truck, sell it and pick up a W250. If you get a Cummins W250, it will still have the same axles, just SRW. Or you might get lucky and find someone with a W250 wanting to go dually, but it may take you a while to locate such a person and reach an agreement.|

Axle swaps or modify, 1990 W350 4x4 turbo diesel.
Howdy folks, I have a 90 1 Ton 4x4 dually. I want to swap out the d70 drw and d60 front DRW for SRW axles. or convert......Anyone near Seligman AZ wanna trade? Or know where I can find the parts as cheap as possible to swap the front to SRW hubs? I don't really need the beef this truck has built in. axles are open with 4.10 gears, I drive this on the road a lot and would maybe even like 3.55 gear sets.
