officer_friendly Did a day trip today from loon to spider lake and back out, the trail was great. Looks like things are in full swing as there was a pretty steady flow of traffic along the trail.

glaZe76 Was there with 6 other rigs this weekend. Loon Lake side, Camped at Ellis Creek. We pushed on through some pretty tough snow drifts from Ellis creek to Buck island but made it fine. We cleared the trail pretty good and its melting fast. Didn't go any further than Buck so have no idea what the rest of the trail looks like. Lots of water on the trail. With the warm weather I think most of the snow on the trail should be melted off by the weekend or close to it.

SJscouter on here went in a week ago and it looked deep. Didn't look like he got to the lake and was pulling in his jk on 40's.

jeepyjca Anyone make it across the Ellis Creek Bridge? I know the snow was very narrow a couple weeks ago. If you made it across how far did you make it up the trail, Walker, Sluice, Buck?

Dougleton Went up Friday the 24th. Made it to Ellis Creek bridge and turned around and camped at the bottom of the bowl. Bridge still had 4-5 feet of snow in the middle.

Curly Snow in the forecast for this weekend

atvobsession The good news...is the warm weather. The faucet was turned off, and we immediately got good warm weather (I think Spring was last week on Monday).

I don't mean this as Debbie Downer...we have had snow on Memorial Day weekend, but it sure appears like that isn't going to happen, and the warm weather will continue and it will be gone.

That being said....Squaw Valley is staying open until July 17.

thefixxer Tahoe side staging area today. Close to 8 feet of snow. Got pretty warm and the snow is still pretty firm but getting very mushy. Made it to Buck Creek fairly easy (no winching) past that is gonna take some work!

oldtimingman Tim,
did ya make it?
04-06-2019 08:17 AM
TimCubed Yea, I went up about 1/2--3/4 mile and turned around, the low branches and deep treewells were getting a little sketchy, I'll be up next week I'm tryin' to make it to the campground. Then the loop to loon.
04-05-2019 06:43 PM
tallgaier Tim, did you go up the hill towards McKinstry Lake?
03-30-2019 08:16 PM
TimCubed Here's a couple pics of today's run into Wentworth Springs. First pic is where I stopped at the trailhead, second pic is showing snow depth. I think the sign might 4' or 5' high.

I'v wheeled with Jim in the snow Guy is a beast.

Watched him run over Barrett one time.

Dog popped up out of the snow and bolted...Wandered back a bit later. That was the only time I saw him let the dog sleep in the rig with him.

I would be more surprised to find out he didn't make to the box.

TimCubed I'll be at Airport flat in the morning, still tryin' to make it to Wentworth springs.
