I Lean Don't worry about what it came from--throw it away and get at minimum, a later model with the larger spindle bearings. (unless you're going to cut it up and just use the center section...in which case it's just a D60)

total newb With 16 spl its going to be early 70s at the newest

1 axle a wheel base does not make.

Perch spread can often be a good indicator of chassis mfg
Along with hub pilot diam.

-burzum- I thought it might be simple like certian wheelbases indicate different brands or somthing. I'll try to get pics later.

Tubes are 3 1/4

Full float

the words HD60 are cast into the housing behind the bearing cap

originally it had 16 spline axles.

12" drum brakes presently

wheel lug pattern 8 x 6.5

Pretty much this. Or a shitload more details. Width, bolt pattern, spline, SF or FF, tube dia etc.

Dana 60 Rear identification issue

Ive got a mystery rear dana 60 with no BOM. Im trying to get a disc conversion kit for it and the brackets are different between makes. Does anybody know how to tell them apart?
