Going for the 'old hippy' look!

Give me a choice between a 2019 whatever and 1980 exciter Iíll take the exciter everyday. I have a blast flying through the twisting trails around here. Fuckers I ride with all have 100hp plus sleds. I just need to hang with them tight trails. The fields and lakes I donít stand a chance lol.

I really want to transplant a phazer motor in a exciter chassis. If I could get it up to 65 hp I think it would be perfect. A neighbor of mine is dropping a big power plant in his 80ís exciter. He has his own sled dyno and the motor makes 130hp. The exciter will be a sister to a pair of Polaris centurions that each have over 110hp each.

The boys better watch out Iíll be hanging with them next week.

dave_dj1 Progress is coming along nicely on the new dump trailer build.
It's 6'-5" x 12' with two 5200 lb axles
6" channel main frame, 4" channel dump bed frame
will have a 10 ga floor and sides
5" x 30" stroke cylinder
I am using old MH axles and have decided (after taking one apart and having the brake lining fall off the shoe) that I will be converting them to 8 on 5.5" bolt pattern. It's more than I wanted to spend but it is what it is.
Axles were free, cylinder and power pack I have 100 bucks into them.
I'm hoping to be into it for around 2K

I'm going to have this piece cut, does it look strong enough as drawn? With the 1/2" around the hole?

I've been on the look out off and on but have not had anything reasonable come up. When I did the brakes and bearings on this truck the U-joints were gone. When I replaced them the shaft ears were not that great looking so this is not totally unexpected, I was more worried about getting the truck ready for winter cheaply than doing everything right.

Chains are on my list of things to get for this truck.

If the highway I needed to be on to yank the truck wasn't as busy as it is in the morning I would've yanked it but morning traffic is a bitch, if there were more pirate members around here maybe a passer-by would've stopped to help. I didn't have time before my 40 mile drive into work on an already shitty weather day.

I miss Nevada and its lack of salt.

santa V2.0 Woke up with a scratchy throat and a runny nose. Took an emergen-c and am going to do my old stand by. Feed a cold starve a fever. Gonna make breakfast potatoes, bacon and eggs here in a few. Already have stuff defrosting for chicken tortilla soup tonight, or beef stroganoff depending on which the wife feels like having.

Hope to kick whatever nuisance bug is trying to take hold. And if it's the corona virus, the wife and kid already have dibs on my stuff

SSSRodeo Which reminds me about some useless info To ya'll at least..

Gotta roll my broke ass to a Funeral today.
My Cousins husband (A good Georgia Boy) died Wednesday.
The guy was who painted all my cars for my wife and I for decades.
Mainly because I hate bodywork that bad.

Smoked himself to death.
He was only a few years older than me, but looked like he was in his 90's.

Not my truck or situation. I was referring to the snowplow chevy in the ditch that didnt want to start the next morning because half the glow plugs were shot. I had a POS 6.2 as a teenager and dealt with many of the problems with it. Was just trying to give him an alternative to constantly going through glow plugs.

Edit: it was the post I quoted with the snow plow not me.

Says the guy who lives in Texas!

We don't have that kind if rust down here.
That's actually not bad for a truck that old used as a plow truck.

My wife's from Chicago and I wouldn't live in Minnesota if you gave me the whole state.
As they say, nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I'll stick to putting salt on my steaks.

hell, down in the cities there's this real nice 80s crown vic that a contractor or something owns. Always see it running around towing a trailer. Holes through the doors, plastic windows, broken springs, little kids in the back

But it greatly reduced the duration the glow plugs would cycle after it started. Like maybe one time if it wasnít smooth from the start up.
