nah I think this one just wore completely out
when the shear bolt fails to shear you get a single dead spot in the bull gear, this one just spins 360 deg with minor chugga chuggas

DozerDan Was planning on working on my car last night- needs glow plugs and module. But had to go work on a 6.0 instead since we are supposed to get snow and he needs it to plow. Stupid oring on the HPOP, last guy that was in there hacked everything up. Made the simple job much harder.

Got that done at like 2am. Slept in, got my car in garage and we got a whole .25" of snow.

Now to pull it all apart (intake has to come off) and hopefully everything come out with out issues.

If they are old enough to walk, they are old enough to hand you tools. Get them out and involved with your projects.

well shit, look at it and it's a tiny little hole in my left trigger finger, get a needle from someone else to dig around in there see if there's metal

yup, pin hits some metal, spend 5 min trying to dig it out

finally have to cut my finger open a bunch more with a (fresh new) razor blade under the sink to keep the blood washed out so I can see in there

finally dig out a bigass 1/4" square by 1/16" thick piece of steel, WTF it only made a little 1/8" wide cut

everyone's thoroughly freaked out by now

why the fuck would I go to the hospital, that's where you go to get horrible infections

get home from snowpocalypse 2020 'the news says we're all dead for sure this time' and look on CL for a snow blower

nice, one that's running and everything for $75 not far away, says a tire leaks and it's rusty, nbd

try it out, seems to work fine, give the guy $75 because fuck it, he seems honest enough and it's sure worth it if it's as advertised

get it home and it goes way rich and stalls any time the throttle opens wide from getting loaded down hard (his driveway was pretty clear)

emissions era nonadjustable carb, he probably drilled the jet out too far

older RWD GM stumbles to a stall in the road out front, huh, start over to see if they want some help

they're on their phone loudly cursing at the poor girl at the other end about how he's going to use a knife as a dildo on her

Well. Good thing my coveralls are making a quick draw impossible...

nope out of there before they notice me, they wander to a neighbor's house (who gives them a gas can and they leave in a hurry)

open the carb's venturi up a bunch with a file and pull the muffler off to get a little more air through there for the same amount of fuel

runs great now, gettin' it good and then I hit the plow's furrow, engine unloads and the wheels start spinning

fucking worm gear stripped out

called the guy to ask about his return policy but it's 10, so get voicemail.

I'll try again tomorrow. Really wanted to get a working one rather than another project. Plenty of them this broken available for free, and I've got a dirt driveway I was planning on clearing tomorrow a hundred miles north of here.

such is life in the zone

That makes me glad it was 75 here today and I was having to swat mosquitoes off.

you have to wait until there's ben at least a week of rain in the spring before you get anything out that's nice.

roads are literally white for half the year.

ODOT loves salt.
I've seen them spreading it in the fucking rain.

Mayor wanted to spend the $5m it cost to sweep in the spring on bike lanes and other stupid shit. What the dumbass didn't get was, sand wasn't the only thing the street sweepers picked up.
