The first year I went I had no idea what I was doing and showed up in a Hyundai Elantra and ended up hitch hiking to the spectator spots. Got to ride in some pretty cool rigs but since then I've always taken my crawler. A side-by-side is probably the best vehicle to have out there.
Bullshit

I drove a rental Nissan Versa out to King of the Hammers in 2016, and made it to all the spectator spots. Hell, I was even passing people in actual rigs in the whoops, and people applauded I made it so high up the spectator parking hill at Chocolate Thunder

Hell, honestly, it was a better time thrashing the rental around with buddies than watching the actual race

2wd truck out there would be rough to get around in. 4wd truck or 4wd SUV and you're good.
We didn't do too bad cruising around in my buddy's 2wd Avalanche. It was a little tough getting over to Sledgehammer since he wasn't willing to give it the same treatment as the Versa.

Mex-lego I went to KOH one year, without my crawler, and it wasn't that much fun. Eddie315 is right, a 4 wheel drive vehicle will give you and your wife a much better experience.

Don't mind walking up, but the two miles across the desert from Hammertown might be too much to sell to the wife!

Thanks

crazydave Just checked today and they have announced the dates. Hammertown is open Friday Jan, 31 until Sunday Feb. 9, with the big race on Friday, Feb 7.
Putting in my vacation time request right now.

KOH 2020

It may be a little early to post this up, but I can't find the answer anywhere else yet. I need to request my vacation time asap. Just wanting to make sure, is KOH week always the first Friday to the second Friday of February? That would make 2020's week Feb. 7-14.

Or will it be January 31 to Feb. 7? N00b question I know. IR confused.
