The 1845C's have a 4B, no turbo. They're reliable but very noisy and like to shake.

Edit: That looks like a beautiful property.
No, but it's the only viable location.

You need chains anyway, the 4wd seems to help more when getting a load of dirt or rock. When you start getting your load from a pile, the weight is loaded to the front axle, which means the rear is unloaded.

In snow, you chain up and use your cutting brakes to turn if necessary. (assuming here)

The engine in a 1845c is a case 4-390 engine and it yes is in fact a 4BT. The tag on it should say Consolidated Diesel or CDC. But it's a 4bt and depending on what it is in the front/rear covers and accessories are obviously different. A CASE IH 8830 has the same 4BT in it but with some weird front rear covers. My old neighbor had one.

You really have to watch because case put their small 4 banger diesel in skid loaders. 1840 and 1845 and B's from what I know. The case 4 cylinder diesel doesn't have the best record. The 1835 and 1835C have both gas and a non-4BT diesel in them. The 1838's have a kubota in them.

The 95XT should be a Turbo'd 4T-390 AKA 4BT with a turbo. From the parts catalog that's what it looks like.

Rubirunner85 Damm that’s cheap. I would drive that to the gas station into town.

[486] ah, just saw the individual rocker covers and the style of intake manifold and jumped to conclusions

Action Fab Brought the Case home yesterday. Also took delivery of the Blade Runner. It's supposed to rain this afternoon. So I probably won't get started on the Excavator project till tomorrow. Pretty excited to dig into it though.

Thanks to everyone who made helpful suggestions. I'm very happy with the selections you guys helped me make.

YotaAtieToo Jeez, I guess there is no need for counterweight when you have a 4bt
11-16-2019 04:29 PM
Action Fab Cool. So it's 9k lbs, and has an almost 6k lbs break out.

I told the owner I want it subject to inspection. We'll see how it plays out.

Thanks.

Looks like the engine may be a 4bt or a variant.

Action Fab Best I can tell, it is a 95XT. Maybe it is some odd ball model. But that's the closest chassis in appearance. The 95XT does use the 3.9 Cummins and is a high flow. So it's most likely the one.

The 465 is also the same machine with a 4.5L Iveco engine.
