good to know the new campground owners are letting people use that trail

|Murphster05||Went from Eagle Lakes through to Cisco today no issue, saw the gate but it is after the turn out of committee. Campground security guard escorted us through the campground to use the 80 bypass, $5 which I think it typically always was?|

It's all open, as of the 20th.
Some one in our group talked to someone working on the project and the plan changed. They just put a gate by the cabin. From what he said, they plan to leave it open for the duration of the project. Supposedly they are going to rock and grade rattlesnake all the way to the dam.
He also said they will be leaving the water wide open, which should mean an earlier wheelin season.

I can check the gate tomorrow, headed to Cisco for work.

|erictylers1||Came out this am and looks like they are digging some footings for a gate right at the road to the dam house.|

|Rock Dog||There will be no gate/restriction on Rattlesnake Rd from PG&E for 2019 or 2020 to access Committee Trail. You are clear to get to the trail. They are closing off access to the dam site however, so I would implore everyone to honor whatever barrier(s) they put up to keep folks away from the dam area and empty lake bed.|

|hodgiemoto||Yes interested in this as well.|
|09-10-2019 10:27 PM|
|jeepyjca||Has PG&E put up the gate yet? Just curious if Committee/Rattle Snake Rd is still passable.|

I'm in communication with the PG&E project mgr about all this and they are holding an internal meeting tomorrow, followed by a possible meeting with FoF (myself) and a few folks from the Forest Service on Thursday. We are pushing to get a compromise to at least have the access open outside of working hours (so like late afternoons and weekends) like we had in the past with the logging companies in the area.

|smokd||Does anyone happen to know when this closure will take effect?|
|08-12-2019 02:17 AM|
|dirtyjed||Came out Committee today and saw at least 5 signs saying Fordyce Lake will closed to public till 2024. Lower gate spot is about halfway uphill from lake.|

They say south of cabin so I'm thinking where the sign board is. I want to believe they put it in a spot so you can at least turn around once you get there.
I don't see why it couldn't be just past the turn off to Committee.

|YotaAtieToo||So I wonder if you are on the main trail, cross committee the river and head up towards the lake, where the gate will be? If any?|

|vikingsven||So it looks like pretty much all access to Fordyce lake will be cutoff between 2021-2023 if they move the gate to Fordyce summit?? That sucks!!|
