i ran 16" fox 2.0's on the front of my TJ buggy with the 4.0. I had to run close to 400 psi to get 6" of shock shaft showing and to keep it from bottoming out all the time (it still bottomed out a lot). I put put the max fill amount of oil in them, then pressured up to get 6". IMO the 2.0's are undersized for your jeep. I've since switched to coilovers and am much happier, but i think 2.5 airshocks would have been good to if all you do is crawl.
you may want to empty all the oil out and put back in a measured amount so you know exactly what is in them. I recall a discussion about factory oil levels not being the same between shocks. For 18" you should have about 440cc in each

Ok I have an Airshock question for everyone, I've tried to search the forums but results are unclear.
I'm running 18" 2.0 Fox airshocks, I've tried juicing them and adding oil at intervals but I can't get the ride height I want. I'm added up to 350-375 PSI of nitrogen and I'm not really comfortable running any more pressure than that. Is my shit too heavy for the 2.0s? or just keep adding oil? I think i've added about 100ml to each and I'm afraid I'm getting into hydro-lock territory. What say yee pirate?

didn't get much done this weekend, work has had me busy AF. I did pick up a new bender for my birthday last week. Finally time to retire the ghetto fab bender. Going to start on a table for the new rogue fab bender today, its going to be large enough for the bender and for a metal brake i'm getting this afternoon.

Got a little wrench time in this weekend, got the NWF cable kit for the 205 and installed it. got the missing spud shaft from AA finally and stabbed the Xcase. Bent up a crossmember to hold up the tranny/x case and got everything in and holding it's own weight.
decided mounting the ECM to the shock hoop was too vulnerable, welded a plate to the "inner fender" on the tube fenders to hold the dirty dingo ECM bracket so it's up out of the way for the most part. I'm going to use some rubber like gt1guy was saying and maybe a little plastic shield or guard to keep the rocks from hitting it.

|gt1guy||No reason you can't weld a bracket off a tube for the ECU. I'd use rubber isolaters to cut down on vibrations. Down on the frame seems like it would be kinda low. ECU's don't work good underwater.|

finished the front axle minus the hubs because i bought 35 spline lockouts instead of 30 i guess. everything else is done new balljoints, brakes, steering is set up. stabbed the motor again last night, gonna finally start wiring and plumbing.
2 questions -
1. on the donor vehicle for this motor (2017 Sierra) i guess the ECM was mounted on the fender? so the 3 plugs going to the ECM are real short. I'm not running inner fenders and it barely reaches if i mount it on the fire wall and i'm afarid when the motor is torquing it'll pull too hard on the ECM. have any of yall built a box for one and mounted to the frame or tube?
2. Airshock people - the Fox book say pressure from 50 - 500psi and really gives no other instruction, i had to juice them to like 450psi to get the ride height i wanted, is that too much? i've heard the airshocks expanded during use as they heat up, i'd hate to be wheeling and blow one of these things out... this is my first rig without leafs....

|Fixmysix||How are you planning to handle the fuel pump? Some say it will run like junk without the fuel control module and PWM pump. Others say just run a regulator and return line and it will be fine. I'm getting ready to swap the gen V 4.3 in an old CJ and looking for some ideas.|

got a decent amount done this weekend, mocked up the intake (still need a MAF) and bent a spreader bar for the shock hoops w/ flanges for removal. bolted up the NP205 checked clearances and pulled the motor right after this pic
word to the wise, bleed your airshocks before you attempt to pull the motor, learn from me. it got crazy when i picked the motor up with the lift, ended up pushing the motor motors up past the motor and the bumper was about chest high.
anyway, finshed welding a few things in the front, built a X-case cross member / hoop thing to protect the hang downy thing on the 205. then shot it all low gloss black
got the last few things hooked up on the motor, belts on ect almost ready to go back in, Waiting on the spud shaft from AA for the X case and shifter kit from NWF.
Wife informed me she'll be leaving wednesday to sunday this week, should be getting a ton of shit done this week/weekend.

ok bringing this one back up, got new house and shop bought and moved into, old house is now sold so finally getting around to wrenching again. Pics of new big shop
only real progress is i pulled the hood of yesterday because its in the fu*king way and snagged a new X case
I ditched the Borg bastrad case i got this Ford 205 w/ TH400 adapter. the guy i bought it off said it was set up for twin sticks but I've never messed with a 205 and this shit looks all jacked up. anyone have a picture of what its supposed to look like?

Thanks man! I been watching this too. My next move is 4 link rear with trailing arm uppers, been slowed down with some exceptional breakage on chocolate thunder. Good things to come though I hope....

made a DIY nitrogen rig for juicing the airshocks from a thread i found on here somewhere, i'll post pics of it. Here she is sitting on her own weight. (not pictured) is the hydro assist ram i need to send back to AGR and have rebuilt.

got all the links assembled and put everything back together to get ready to move the shop this weekend. i'm thinking this should be right height-ish. waiting on my nitrogen rig to juice the air shock and be on its own weight

got some pretty good work in on the 3 day weekend
got the 3 link where i want it, re did the shock mounts and had to make my own track bar bracket cuz I never did get the barnes one i ordered, also had to make the frame upper link mount because the barnes bracket was too big and right where the header collector is...
should have pretty salty droop travel
welded all the links and axle brackets and painted
bent up a tube to start the X case mount and ran out of time, if i can finish the X case mount and roll the tub for beliner i can start running wire and hopefully get ready to fire this thing
