Fl-Krawler i was driving my rockwelled buggy to work at least 2-3 days a week.. 44's with an 4l60e.. on the interstate i could keep with the flow of traffic(70-80mph my speedo wasnt hooked up) and only be turning 2800 rpm. i have an LT-1 so that is about perfect cruising RPM for that engine

Davethorik just search google or here for an RPM calculator. you plug in trans. final drive ratio, gearing, ideal speed, and tire size.

Your rpm's are gonna be pretty high, but since you have rocks you can always step up to a "huge-er" tire, like a 46" or 49" (or bigger)- they will hold up to them strengthwise, and bigger tires are like a poor mans Overdrive.

rockwell question

I remember seeing a thread about daily driving with rockwells, but i cant find it. I was looking for feedback on dd with rockwells that have outboard disk's on all corners. I have an od tranny and since i am having some problems with an axle company, im looking to switch axles. Due to my long wb and having had everything set up for 4ws, 1 tons arnt my best option, so im looking to go back to rockwells. The low gearing is the one thing im worried about, but i think i remeber someone posting that with 44's an od, the ration ended up being about 4.0? The link i was looking for, any others, or your own feedback would be great. Again, i will be running disk's on all corners as i dont like pinion brakes, and i know they dont work well on the road. thanks
