I like the top, the back bends look nice but Id add some cross brace.
The front would look sweet with something like this!

Early Dec. trip would be cool (or cold depending on how you look at it) I'd like to get a group of us together to go and break some junk.
I'm going to have a friend of mine (boat top maker) build me a canvas top and eventually I'll make some doors for it.
I'm not familiar with the drag race scene. Straightaways are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers I race in SCCA and haven't seen anything I like from those guys for door bars.
I'm getting down to the wire, think I'm just going to hack something in and redo it at a later date

|woody||Sean, it looks sweet!! Mine is going under soon too for cage work, TBI motor, and more...hoping to have it runnable by mid-Nov for a test weekend. Will keep ya posted - might do an early Dec Attica trip too to REALLY break it in!|

Are you planning to extend the sheetmetal back from the windshield for a roof, our would you go for a custom soft top?

I know I need to triangulate the uprights but thanks for the suggestion anyhow.
ZJ, I've been planning on doing exactly what you did with your side bars and was going to put the downward bend in them. What did you do for tieing in your bars to the body. Did you just use floor plates or did you actually do some subframe work? I'm still looking to find an upper bar that can swing out and click shut but won't rattle the whole time I'm on the trail. I'd like to have that for resting my arm on while tooling along also I'm doing all my sheetmetal work around the windshield today and will be permanently welding the cage in tonight. Sometimes ya gotta love being in school and not having a job at 29 yrs. old

Looks good--and kinda familiar!
and my door bars
I'm actually going to redo the bars that go across my front doors. I am going to have them start and end in the same place, but make a curve down to make it easier to get into.
Looks awesome--good luck.

|JS-Economos||That is looking great man. When I have the doors off mine, I'm constantly grabbing at the rockers for support or as a "handle" when I'm crawling over obsticles. I'd run a lateral bar through the front two door openings (see the chop). The roof of the cage looks pretty stout, but I'd definitely triangulate the "pillars". Sorry for the shitty chop, its the best I could do in 10 seconds.|

'Das awfully purdy mate!
Nice work, can't wait to see finished pics.
Only suggestion I have 4 tude doors is to copy something used by the EB or Toy guys that have been doing tube doors for a while.

tryin' to get my cage done
This is my progress as of last night. I think I'm going to run out of tube and shielding gas today. It wouldn't bother me to get suggestions as to door bars and what not. Keep in mind my mid 50's parents will be climbing in and out of it. I'd like to see some pics of easily removable door bars. I believe I've got the top pretty well taken care of. I'll be taking supports from the bends at the top of the C hoop to the back and will be doing the same thing from the center of the C hoop to the mounting points at the back. Oh yeah, how crazy do you folks get with guseting, I'm going to gusset the whole center area where all the tubing on top comes together and anywhere the tubing comes in on an angel, but should I worry about where the spreaders come in at 90's against the hoops? Photochop away, I don't mind
