cv shaft to short on driver side

I have just replaced the CV Shafts on my Nissan D21 1994 Hardbody truck and I'm not sure why the driver side one is about 1/16th-1/8th inch to short to reach the snap ring groove, its only on the driver side that this is happening, the passenger side reaches fine, anyone have any ideas or tips to fix this or why this is happening?

was there dirty or any foriegn debris on the shaft before installing it or on the spindle?? you should be able to push on the outer cv and push it through so you have enough showing to install the clip.

It could be what Dave says, or it also could be made by a Chinese machine shop. They now
have all of our Rock Wells and Bridgeports, but they haven't figured out how to use them yet.
