On a proof barrel that's not really an option. Still need that shank to grab onto with the barrel vise.

Meh, Proof is just up the road.


I can see where screwing up a carbon fibre is an issue but shortening a longer steel could be done with a sacrifice in accuracy and a bunch of coin of the realm to cover Proofs cost to redo the thing... and having to listen to a "ream job" by Customer service and production types about why one doesn't treat hardware that way.
