Vector Arms V53p review - HK style 5.56 pistol

First let me say I was very excited to see these being available again. I have a Vector UZI in .45 as an SBR that is one of my favorite items.

This V53p is not. The bad on line reviews from the older run applies to the new run as well. The Century C93p is a much better build.

I will add more later.

Issues:

Receiver is very thin. So thin that using a claw mount/B&T, IF you can get one to mount, voids the warranty b/c it will crush/collapse the receiver.

Stock fit is hit or miss due to the receiver design from my online reading. I will no doubt have these issues once my stamp comes back and I try to make it work.

Finish is not great and thin - easily scratched. Bubbled up int he right triple rail area.

I mailed it back for warranty review due to the front sight triple rail being canted to the right. They said it was ok after laser bore sighting, and it is shootable and accurate enough, BUT when you look at the triple rail it is pretty bad.

The MP5 style handguard that comes on it has had the "bill" that rides on the front trunion ground to fit with a dremel so no other handguards will fit without work. The small pin holder on the front of the handguard is so canted, same as the triple rail, that clearancing a the hole is required. The front end is just all wonky.

I had an HK33 style handguard that I had broke the "bill" off of that I made fit - (Fits quite well actually.) - once I opened up the pin hole on the handguard some.

So the good is that it runs.

The bad is that something from Vector should not be outdone by Century, and listed above.

The KRISS vector 9mm has my panties all wet. So it's sad to hear this.

In their defense though, Century has really stepped up their manufacturing standards lately. Everything I've heard about the C93 has been positive. Now theyre selling HK91 clones on PTR receivers for $699.

Kriss and Vector Arms are two different companies.

They do not that I am aware of.....and as much roller lock kook aid I have consumed lately I think I would. That is one of the reasons I had high hopes for the V53p.

Really considering picking up one of these. Not sure if an HK would be a good one to tackle for my first firearm.

HK 33 parts kit with flat

But really. With the jig, it seems very straight forward. If i could get good measurements of the bending jig, i'd make it at work. Save a few buck, and uy a couple more flats for back up.

As a rule, I don't sell guns either, but I make an exception for shitty ones.

You've got me confused with someone else. I've never owned a FAL.

Yeah, 12" barrel as opposed to the 8", I stand corrected. I didn't really consider this one due to its length and non compatibility with HK53 parts.

I have 2 of those PTR PDW's in 308. Got one drastically reduced because they shipped the first one with no paddle mag style release.

They are HIGH quality builds in comparison to the other HK style items I own.
