Texas Hog Hunt

A buddy of mine had a hog hunt lined up that was supposed to have started Nov 16th. Well some way or another it fell through. Anybody have a connection or recommendation for a short notice hog hunt in TX?

Dunno but I plan on going down there and hunting with a buddy that lives there soon. There are plenty of outfits that will guide or lease land.

I think the King Ranch has them but I believe the price may be prohibitive

Off topic, sorry, but the bastards won't stay out of our yard. Just put two nice ones in the freezer.

im interested in price also.

actually, most of the hogs around me have vanished. maybe lured to other places by crops.

tell him to try the hunts the government puts on at Camp Bullis, right outside of SA.

You cant swing a dead cat without finding some outfit in South Texas that will take you hog hunting.

I'm in game zone 4 in SC and can put you on hogs around that time. Right now it's all planted soybeans, but once they harvest it's ON. I doubt they will replant till late spring. Our place certainly isn't a guarantee, but I got 40+ this year between March-June-ish.

Dont you only hunt at night? I dont have the investment into thermal or NV right now. But if you do day hunts im gonna have to hit you up.

Yeah, mostly at night but I could still take you if you wanted. We've been seeing them while in the deer stands recently and have probably shot 5 or so in the past four weeks or so. So... not TONS of activity during the day time, but some.

I'd advise looking for a hunt outside of deer season to save money. Our deer season is long, from the first week of November into the first weekend of February for does. After that, there are a bunch of different hunt types like day trips, all inclusive and any level of luxury. There are also many manors of killing; sitting in a box blind over a feeder pounding beers, driving around day or night with a spot light pounding beers, running them with dogs and stabbing them while pounding beers, use your imagination. You can do anything, but I'd advise waiting until February so its still cool but you can save some scratch.

This is what drives me nuts. I understand paying for guide services, but I can't get over how much they want for self guided hunts.

If they're that much of a nuisance then you'd think they'd be begging for people to shoot them.

Hell, put a bounty out and I'd bet you'll see a big population decline.

It is supply and demand. Stupid ass hunting shows glorify the dumb hunts and now everyone wants to do it. Might as well cash in. The real problem is when some cocksucker brings in a bunch and turns lem loose so he can "guide" hunts. That is a big reason they spread so fast.
