Hmm that seems like a cool idea, but I would hate to limit any travel, especially down travel. I might try that though when I'm tinkering with my shock bodies.

ya i agree mine is cut at 1/2 inch..
it doesnt limit down travel it limits ride height by preloading the suspension a bit you almost eliminate tq tw ..it also makes the rig very predictable

colonelangus 10-10-2008 07:12 PM

Where did you get the Jeep body for it? I have been looking for one that wouldnt have to be highly modified to fit.

SnoopMaxx 10-21-2008 03:42 PM

Thatīs the Jeep Rubicon body from
HPI Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Body Savage

Deezul 10-21-2008 05:15 PM

yup thats it........just trim it and it works fine

Grind 10-21-2008 05:38 PM

I'm still trying to get my Pro Line 1970 or whatever year F-100 body to fit.
I don't know if I can take on the massive modding for bobbing, dovetailing, and shortening the track width of it either.

Deezul 10-21-2008 07:57 PM

can you just trim the fenders and hack off or shorten the bed?

Grind 10-21-2008 10:00 PM

I will trim the front fenders, but I'm trying to go for a scale looking body. And the body is a little too wide for my shortened side mounted body pins.
The only body that really fits my chassis is the Losi Grapper and the Betty.

DieselS10 10-21-2008 10:20 PM

Wow, I just looked through the crawlers that you guys have built and I'm almost embarassed to show mine, but here goes.

It is basically a slightly modified E-Maxx. I bought it thinking that I wanted something fast, but I crashed so much I decided to get into crawling. It's nothing like the ones you guys run, but I have fum with it.

The mods:
Shocks, axle shafts, high torque servo, spools, 600 series motors, low gear set, Moab XL's, narrowed wheels, my version of a 3" longer than stock chassis, and a tube body that I haven't finished yet. I don't have any wheelin pics of it (pockets are to ful of batteries to cary a camera) so I took a few here at the house.

Man that comp rig is my favorite for sure!
I need to get into scale though, I know they don't flex as well, but I think I would have fun just messin around with one.:smokin:
