REDLYNER Jeep

REDLYNER, I'm interested in your build...planning to do something similar with the 1958 Willys I picked up from a government auction. What suspension mods did you make? And where did you get the fender mod pieces? Is that a custom made rollcage?

I know it's a conversation almost a year old, but your Jeep is really cool. Mine is getting a 388 Chevy V8 conversion and would love to rallycross it. Any info could save me some heart ache trying to achieve what you have, thanks.

Ill be doing a bunch more rally races in the future, but my next event is the King of the Hammers EMC race. Click the link in my signature for a detailed write up of everything done on my jeep- especially the cage and suspension. I've gone through multiple setups and wrote up reviews of each.

Jeep + RallyCross = too much fun.

I rally raced a NASCAR 5/8 mile banked dirt track last week..... TOO. MUCH. FUN.

To bring this idea back, you can definitely rallycross a Jeep. I did it with my ZJ last winter (on 235/70R16 Nokian Hakka R2 snow tires, ride height is about a 1/2" above stock but much stiffer springs / shocks). I ran with the 242 in 4 part time, locked the trans in 1st gear. Don't think I ever saw more than 1/2 throttle, the cammed 5.9 is way more power than there's traction for at those speeds in the snow.

Here's a video of a few of my runs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB6TXf9q0q8
