^^When was that exactly crawlerman?
I went through night of 12/19. Road up to Stumpy was mostly pavement. Then packed down snow covered a full block before Stumpy turn in and we aired down thinking remainder was like that. Nope, hit the bridge and bare road, with scattered patches all the way past Uncle Tom's. In and out of 4wd. Hartless pass down to Icehouse had roughly 6-18" packed and soft. Not sugar or icy. Ran fine. I'd imagine with warm temps to-date....much much less. |

Granite bowl and loon entrance had some ice and slippery spots. Ice house road had black ice coming back this afternoon. Post pile was soaked and slippery but still made it up. No snow to speak of anywhere.

It's a bad situation here, we desperately need some rain and snow. I foresee an early opening to a lot of trails, but with heavy fire restrictions earlier than normal. I can't say that camping is the same without the fire, just something about it.

they closed them on Jan 1st when many of them were dusty....I do not think they have the ability to open them any earlier than April 1.

![]() What's the law or whatever that lets them close early or keep it closed past April 1st but not open now. ...not that I believe any of the reasons for closure in the first place - still not the frog in that pot
