Primal Quest

Not strictly Rubicon related, but kinda.

Home - Primal Quest

This is a competitive 5 day bike/run/walk/kayak that goes through parts of El Dorado, Alpine, Placer, and Amador Counties, three forests, and a portion of it is run on the Rubicon.

Teams of four racers, if they take any medical help they are out of the race. 3 teams from Nor Cal, seven from the rest of the country and one from new Zealand, who is currently in first place art Lover's Leap.

The leaders should come into the Rubicon at 14N05 sometime on the 23rd I believe, and they will run/hike/walk the trail, turning to barker Meadows and down Blackwood Canyon to Tahoe.

Go to the website and you can click on their mapping tool and watch the leaders real time. There are also photos and a leaderboard.

Pretty cool stuff!

Would it be wrong if I set up a "refreshment" stop at Ellis with beer and whiskey as the "refreshments"?!

Probably wouldn't get many takers...they seem pretty intense. WTH, set it up for yourself, Tim. Beer tree 2!

You could make them play cornhole for shots...
