The full size bronco, a Suzuki Sidekick, and an IFS Toyota 4runner.

The bronco and the Suzuki drove out, the worse for the wear. The Toyota had a broken motor mount, no brakes, and a broken control arm mount...it was left in the springs, the plan was to remove it today. Risk manager shut it down.

I need a risk manager for me

Possibly, certainly doesn't have a new episode to film.

Once I accepted this show was scripted, it became allot more enjoyable. Still weird seeing my driving show actors in other shows, well my fiancÚ likes their corny jokes more then the shows on motortrend.

Trailer for those who didn't see it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EzfAEL6UV1g

Talking to the guys at Uncle Tom's, they stopped by there too.

Not how I run the trail but I have to say you may want to re think this statement. Thousands of folks run the trail every year with crew and cooks. JJUSA, Jeepers Jamboree, Rubithon, MCR and many others have all of this and have been doing it that way for many, many years. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

That's pretty much the standard way to do things with a group of people that are being paid to do something and its not convenient for everyone to run out and get food. Some people get assigned (or hired) to get food ready for those who have other jobs.

Well, big difference between made for TV and real life, but I guess it's no different than having a big trailer on set and whole craft services (food) crew.

I am very thankful for people like John and others that provided them guidance on the trail, I'd hate to see the damage that might have been done if they were left to navigate and decipher the trail rules and etiquette for themselves. Those guys on that Alaska off-road show come to mind, with the exception being Carl Jantz.

Because you don't wheel with a full video/audio crew that have Union mandated breaks/food/support.

Sure he does. Not Top Gear, but Amazon is dropping a huge chunk of change to hire the whole crew for their programming.

There have been three episodes advertised, just confirming it will be the Rubicon Episode.

Even with John and RTF helping with this.....I was still worried that somehow they would make our crowd look like idiots, do something stupid that people would think is normal for wheeling, or say something totally dumb.

While I really like the Top Gear USA show personally, they have not had the best track record with putting our community in a good light. (Leaving a mess in the America's toughest truck episode in AK, Racing an Ultra4 car against a kayak and calling it a "nature eater" and the worst one, demolishing a cliff in Moab with a Mustang)

But IMO, they did a decent job with this episode. I liked it.

I assume your concerns are rooted in a consistent Land Use message, so....

They start the show by disrespecting a private property owner's posted 5 mph speed limit, and launch into a full on dusty fucking brody. They cap off there visit at Uncle Tom's by barking a tree in the parking lot with the chain gag.

Coming off 2nd dam, the Bronco is hauling ass into the Kiosk area, which for Joe Blow would have likely earned him a ticket.

They play bumper cars on numerous occassions.

Anyone seriously concerned about the general public's perceptions of four wheelers would not consider this show a "decent job".

The only things missing were open containers, a trail of garbage, crap on a rock, and some inept cops saving the trail.

RTF should get the credit that they deserve for putting their brand on the same activity for which they (their officers and directors) have openly criticized here for years.

This issue does highlight why those interested in off-road cannot get behind a consistent land use policy message - it doesn't exist.

All of this. If people want to drive like this on the trail it might as well be closed.
