Camping Locations

I would like some suggestions on campgrounds (that I can leave a camper at when I am on the trail) on both ends of the trail? July 11-13 Thanks

Don't know about the Tahoe side, but Loon Lake has some nice campgrounds about 5 miles from the trailhead. I think they go for about $18 a nite. They are listed on reserveusa.com.

Tahoe side staging area is closer to services ( food , gas , phone rec.)
There are lots of large turnouts just prior to staging area where you could leave camper.

There is a really nice state campground about a mile from the Tahoe entrance, if your bringing a family it's a great place to stage from

Loon lake campground. Right before the spillway dam. I think it was like $8 a night when we stayed there over M day weekend.

You can leave it at Robb's Valley Resort on the west end. Robb's is right off Ice House Road about 5 miles from the trailhead at Loon Lake or Wentworth. They charge a nominal fee and have a full service bar and grill up a damn good burger

Have a great trip!
