Norfolk VA Pit clean up

Ok so I know I am new Pirate 4x4.
I want to start a clean up of the wheeling place my friends and I go its over by Norfolk international.
it is open to the public but only if it is kept clean. We (the guys in my squadron) cleaned it before we left in February. 2 weeks ago when we went back it was clear not everyone else is holding up on the cleaning up after themselves part.
So to get down to it I would like to organize something where one Saturday a bunch of us from the Norfolk area get together spend the morning cleaning it and then wheel and bbq the rest of the day. pretty much every weekend is clear for me and the few who have agreed to help.
So any help is appreciated.

I am interested. More info? It would be awesome to find some decent wheeling out in this area so long as it isn't just all mud.

It is alot of mud and water traps, but there are a few trails a Hilux or jeep can fit down. The place isn't huge by any means. I am not big into getting stuck in muck. Do you know where Norfolk international is? 1265 tim road is the address for the pit. It is literally right behind the airport.
as far as date is concerned i am tentatively thinking August 31.

I am trying to make a trip to crozet the 31st for trail cutting up to some rocks, so that is out for sure for me. Open to anybody interested.

Been to the airport a few times, would like to check it out if for nothing but curiosity sake. Might be able to do weekend after, so the 6th or so.

bumping this thread.

I believe this place is called burton station, or i know its off of burton station road. A lot of immature kids with stock trucks go there, and screw things up. Every time i have been the cops always have the place surrounded.

unless mud is your thing i wouldn't recommend going.

I had forgotten about this thread. I went wondering around over there and didn't see it. The location is pretty obvious on Google maps. I might have to wonder down, it should be a least good for a laugh.

Bump on this thread.

Just moved back into the area, was wondering if this place is still legal to drive around on? I drove down today and the only sign I saw was saying it was norfolk city property and you couldn't be out there after dark. That implies to me that during the day its ok. There was a shit ton of trash down there though so obviously morons are once again trying to get it closed off.
