Pretty much. A HEMTT is an 8 or 10 wheel drive truck, built for a specific configuration to do a job. It's just a normal frame truck, that typically steers from the front axles. It is also usually used by the US Army. The Mk48 is actually just the front portion of the truck and has interchangeable "trailers" that are actually powered by the Mk48 and articulate at the joint where they are connected to steer, though the front axle does steer some as well, I believe. This makes them a bit modular as they can fit whatever rear "trailer" they need to do the job. It also makes them drive a bit funny at lower speeds and can be a hydraulic nightmare to maintain due to the articulated steering. Mechanically, they are very similar to the HEMTT series, just cut in half with the articulated joint. Search YouTube for "HEMTT" and then "Mk48" and you can really see how different they operate.

Needs to be on 44s

At least it has a full size rear door

What puzzles me is seeing all the super stretch limos and the back door is still the tiny factory one thatís notched out for the rear wheel

You now have five acres of car to make a door as large as you want
And you kept the tiny factory one ?

Making a door that works for 200K miles is not easy.

Especially when it has to stand up to drunks falling out of the back, match the rest of the body, etc.

I'll beg to differ on level of difficulty when the rear door off a crew cab truck is an available part to start from...
EDIT: what are you talking about? That appears to be a factory size excursion rear door. They don't duck the rear fender at all.

Stock excursion door. Google excursion limo and find one that isn't like that.

Talking about other stretch limos with the tiny OEM door in back

Speaking of limo's I saw this the other day on ebay. While it is a bit more flair than I would want, the concept would be cool for a family heavy hauler......FYI the shot glass holders crack me up.

I'd rather get this from the same seller:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Chevro....c100752.m1982

It's a bit more reasonable, IMHO.

You made my point.

It's tough to make an entirely new door when one didn't exist before.

We did a crew cab 67 Chevy C30... the driver's side door sucked. 100 + hours into a door that mirrored the other side. We used a Suburban body.

$1250 is impulse territory. Good thing that isn't closer. Those forward control trucks are super cool.

I believe all but the run flats. Those NDT's should be on split ring rims. I think he added one 0 too many... but there aren't many 5000hp engines out there in M809 series trucks.

I don't know. The run flat thing is obviously wrong, and I can't ever remember seeing any kind of horsepower rating for Rockwells. Torque rating, yes, but not horsepower. Also, I think by now we all know not to trust the mileage on the odometer of a surplus military truck. But either way, it's probably another guy who heard about "cheap deals" at the surplus auction and bought a couple trucks without knowing anything about them.
