I've always wanted one of those. They made a fuckton of them so they come up for sale decently often.

Nice rig. Semi-local to me if someone wants eyes on it I could probably run up there.

https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/h...972344754.html

For sale is a 1979 Ford F800 Heavy Duty Truck. The truck has a 429 v-8 gas engine. It is equipped with a air vacuum locker for the real wheels. All of the lights work as they should. It’s runs and drives great. Will do 65-70 down the free way no problem. Engine has low miles. Has normal wear for a vehicle this age but nothing major and the interior is very clean. Was gonna use it for water truck work but ended up working on some other projects. Just need it out of the yard. Clean nm title. 3500 obo no trades 505four594one04

the FD where I grew up sold one of those about 8 years ago. Dirt cheap.

They claimed it was too old to keep reliable.

old boy that runs the water trucks around here bought it and has been using it to deliver water for 8 years.
said it was one of his best purchases ever.

taxdollars at work.
but anyway, I guess they're reliable as a hammer.

I'm just damn glad it's across the country, or I'd be trying to scrape the money up, that's almost exactly what I've been looking for, and a very reasonable price.

Same! I've got just enough to buy it, but not enough to get it 2k miles back to me

Piece of cake. I used to have a M35A2 and a '85 Toyota pickup on 35's, both with manual steering

Don't worry. I'm sure 2BB will be happy to use it on your behalf for as long as you park it in his yard.

Yep, I'll even drive it the opposite direction of your house to get it to mine. No idea what ill do with it, maybe just make a big flat track in my back yard and try to drift it. I could probably convince friends to buy equally dumb trucks to race with. Every body climbs in with a 12 pack and you have to stop and drink a beer every 5 laps... what could go wrong?

I could easily store it if someone needed. My dad is also voluntarily unemployed and could possibly deliver for a fee.

Depending on how that body was built and mounted to the frame it is potentially a stress filled pile of shit. The fender flare welded to the skirt makes me think they just welded everything together with no care about the frame flexing under it.

I doubt they ever intended to take it off road or any place that would flex the frame.

look at the seating in the back.

True, but no one here is going to buy it to rent it out as a limo. I imagine most are thinking about some sort of camper conversion.

Looks homemade. The roof appears to use bits and pieces of the stock cab roof. The sides are flat, so no big deal to fab.

Yeah, but for 6500$, that drivetrain and tires would look bitchen under my motorhome.
