I'm looking at a 2019 ecoboost. Have they made improvements since yours to prevent the problems you were having?

His is the first or 2nd year iirc. Yes they have made improvements. They've probably made 100 billion of them since then

We bought my wife a 15 2.7 a year ago. It had 25k and now has almost 55k. It gets pretty respectable mpgs for a full size that can still tow ~8k. Lie o meter usually says around 18 mpg with mostly town driving. Last highway trip it said over 20. We really like it so far.

Insurance said it's a total loss

There's a discrepancy between the truck being a long bed and a short bed. It's a long bed but state farm has it as a SHORT

I have to prove its a long bed before they discussed payout

Nice truck but you’re gonna miss the power. Because I’ve had both and the Ford straight walks the fucking dog on that bowtie.

I've never driven a 3.5, but the power delivery on our 2.7 is impressive. I also have a 6.2 powered 2017 F250 company truck. It's got plenty of power, but the little 2.7 pulls from a lower RPM.

It would be cool if they made a 3.5 ecoboost super duty, or heck even a 5.0 ecoboost

They do it's just a 6.7 EcoBoost

The new 7.3 should shake things up.

The 7.3 sounds like it's going to be bad ass. I still think a 3.5 F250 would be sweet for those who are just pushing the limits of a half ton, but would like to get better than 12 mpg.

Even the first gen 2.7EB with the 6 speed will be a pretty even match for D45's 5.3; a second gen 2.7EB with the 10 speed will walk away from a similar body style and geared 14-18 GM 5.3 with either the 6 or 8 speed tranny.
