I also need a Tech 4000 yoke for the rear axle, as large as possible. I'm ok with the stock waffle pattern flange in the front but don't trust it in the back. Stock is 1710 and I want to stay as close to that as possible.

The 8" flange with a 8 on 7.25" bolt pattern is what I have. $100 each. Shipping might be high if you want the whole shaft or I could cut the tubing out and send it pretty easy. Fastenal has not been shipping to the western states for the last few months.

A few axletechs have a large round flange that looks like the 5 ton flange. Might be worth sending the axletech guy on here a pm.

How would I find said Axletech guy? A large flange would be a good start towards mating up a 1710. I've seen one Tech shaft on EBay that had two different flanges on it.

Air suspension progress. I built a sub-frame of 3"x4"x0.375" tube to make the rear ride height closer to the front. It's still 2" lower in the rear but close enough for now. I thought about going spring over, but that would lift it about 4" higher than the front.

All my pictures are out of order because of Photobucket charging now and moving all my pics to Pirate. Anyway, I'll try and keep pics together.

3"x4"x0.375" Sub-frame tabs to main frame.

Shortening the Freightliner track bar by 4" to clear the frame. Sleeve was slid over and welded in after this pic.

Of course the track bar bracket had to land right on top of the axle breather, so now I have a breather out the side of my bracket.

New air brake lines. Side note, parking and service brake chambers appear to be the same on both sides, not mirror image. That means lines have to be crossed on one side to have correct function. Some puzzlement went into figuring that out.

Finally got to drive it home from school. Slow drive, going from 4.33 stock ratio to 5.65 in the AT4000. I didn't have time at school to switch the 53s from Bud wheels to Axletech, so I threw 46s on it to save time.

Rockwell T1138 transfer case lowered into the frame, ready for mounts.

Lots of parts had to be moved to make room for the case, including air drier, tanks, exhaust, battery box and some drain fittings.

Rear driveline shortened from 46" to 27"

8" diameter 1710 series driveline flange.

A 36" jackshaft puts the case just about center of the wheelbase, and leaves space for air tanks, unlike the 24" shaft I could have used.

2"x6"x0.250" tube skid plate.

Mock up of skid plate.
