Truck brand updates?

Have been window shopping trucks for a while now and though I love the fords, I can’t get over the engine.

I do majority daily driving and light towing sub 10k very occasionally. The Chevy and gmc are nice looking but I know GM never saw a corner they couldn’t cut and the lack of a rear center headrest is a no go for kids.

This leaves dodge and also looking at gas tundra as I can get a crew cab with 8 ft bed. I’d love a DRW and I like the IDEA of diesel but Cummins shouldn't have issues. Last word on ram was they have improved but where’s the line on years?

This would likely be my 2nd car as my accord is dead nuts reliable and paid off.

What say ye?

You couldnt give me a 07.5+ diesel. Write a check for an older, low mileage truck, and be money ahead.

Yup, I posted a bit ago and looking for updates as the new rams hit the street.
Besides, the non-GCC chats are about dead lately so you should thank me for posting.

When I read the stupid headrest comment, I thought someone bumped an old ass thread because itís gotta be word for word the exact same question.

OP, youíre not gonna buy a new truck, youíre just gonna nitpick each brand like last time. /thread

Have had a 18 Ram megacab with the 6.4 hemi for a little over 15K Miles now. I really didnít/donít need a diesel, and didnít want the added headache of dealing with one.

Fuel mileage is about what you would expect for a 3/4 with a gas motor. It does slightly better on the highway vs. my last Chevy with the 6.0. Stop and go driving is comparable between the two. Other than that, Iím happy with the truck so far.

If you like the 5.5í bed I agree. My FIL has about 200K fairly trouble free miles on his. Oil changes and brake jobs is about all he has done. Itís in need of a few minor wear items (mainly shocks) now. It hasnít had a easy life.

Just go test drive them and buy the one you like. There is no such thing as a perfect truck brand.

I bought a gas Titan XD. Sure it is ugly, but 400hp and a crew cab. I wanted a Tundra, but the Nissan is much more truck for $10k less.

It's worth $10k to not have to go outside every morning and face the fact that I spent $30k on something so ugly

I had a 13 ram 3500 5.7, and now have a 18 ram 2500 6.7. For DD I liked the gas engine better, but it sucked towing heavy in the mountains. The new diesels are way better cold starting than the older ones, and quieter. mpg was about 12 with the gas and 15 diesel empty. Towing with the gas was 6mpg, not sure about the diesel yet for any distance.

And being able to pull out my tow mirrors driving empty while wearing a flat bill hat is awesome

I've flipped flopped so many times on buying a new truck but this is the direction we're currently looking... Also, FTFY.

He asked about trucks, not a faggy fiat car.

You might be correct on whether or not I buy in the short term however the headrest concern is legitimate for passengers.

I have nothing but time to sort out my options...or should I do like most buyers and just buy the one that looks pretty and sounds more "truck-ish"?

Some of you folks don't need a truck, you need a cowboy woody costume!

I just bought a '16 Ram 1500 5.7L crew cab. Daily driver that will tow occasionally.

400HP, 8 speed trans, comfortable, rides great, and has all the creature comforts. No complaints so far. With 3.92s they are rated at 10k towing.

I couldn't justify a 3/4 ton for DD duties.
