Flatlanders is too nice of a word. I prefer phrases like "subhuman filth" Also, parts of Maine are pretty damn flat.

You would be a subject matter expert on the subhuman filth infestation

In Maine it's called potato country and nobody south of Portland remembers it exists

If it is a bumper pull that 8k tongue is insane. If you are right the trailer weighs a bit more so 10k in the bed of the truck is not much better.

Yes, that is why I called it a 16k trailer. 4 tires at 4k comes to 16k. More likely it has 3500 lbs tires and expects 2k on the tongue.

It's at least an F450. Seems fine.
At least it's tied down

https://www.volvoce.com/united-state...vators/ec140e/
29-35k, 121hp midsize.

on a 15 ton trailer, that's potentially just inside tow ratings on the 2020 1 ton trucks! Fuck. What is it, 35,000 ratings?

Well 2020 trucks aren't quite available yet. I guess you're right on tow raitings depending on trailer/equipment weight. Still wouldn't want it behind me in stop and go traffic....

I don't even think that would work for yard-switching an empty trailer...
