cut tire ideas?

one of my iroks has a deep cut in it, not leaking but im afraid of what MIGHT happen. It is on the carcass itself, not on the sidewall or anything. it is about a foot long, but the only place that worries me is about 3-4 inches long. Ideas on safeguarding against this?

thats what I am leaning toward... cant seem to find any good ideas. hell if i have to I will put JB weld in there!! im not sure how deep into the tire it really is (how deep does it have to be to start leaking?) just want to take any precaution I can. These tires only have about 4 rides on them.

Why not run a big ol' patch inside?

Iroks are super tough, but if you're showing cords, a patch on the inside would make the carcass flex less there...and more likely to absolutely in that spot? Just one

...that's what I'll do if one of my Iroks starts to show a weak spot....

Send a message via AIM to Hvy_Chevy
think some places that will vulcanize sidewalls can work some magic on cuts like that

thats true vulcanizing works real well, dont know if a patch will hold well with low air press and going over rocks and alot of tire flex, jus my 2 cents although tha place i get my tires fixed they vulcanize it and put a patch on the inside

We've vulcanized 4 or 5 tires this year. All are good now.

A big rig tire place does them here.
