'85 bj70 what to look for?

A friend of mine from out of town has called and asked me to look at one that's sitting in a field locally. I'm more of a pickup/4runner guy, so my toyota knowledge isn't really geared this way.
Everything I know is; it's the brown one, the interior is good, it's a 5 speed, 2" OME lift, new tires, 4cylinder diesel.

Typical problem rust areas? Hard to get parts? What's the story on the trans and tcase, same as other 5 speed cruisers? Are body parts available if it has rust?

He won't be looking to build an out of hand wheeler, more of a camping and exploring rig. Overlanding, but with more beer and pepperoni instead of wine and cheese.

No answer because they're rare? I should be able to figure it out myself? Or is the cruiser section just dead?

It is a land cruiser so I would look for rust issues first. Maybe post on Ih8mud.

The 3B engine and H55 transmission are virtually bullet proof, just check for rust in the rocker panels and rear quarters

Rockers were rotten, frame was good, pan was good, front fenders have had inners and outers bondo's together and painted...bubbles around every wheel arch. I said dont do it, and I think he is going to do it

All I remember is buying 2 ARB's . harness and pump from him, he was in Nanimo IIRC. Some older person had rolled or slid off road and totaled fj40, I got the arb's from it. He had a shop, I can't recall Radd cruisers but sounds familiar.

Did a build on here years ago, all I can remember from that is it was gray/silver, coils/links, buggy sorta IIRC.

Sorry not much help, used to be able to remember stuff better.

Radd cruisers was in Duncan, I'm not sure where Mr Baron lives. It's a big island though, could easily be someone else.
