AZ why are you missing your 40?

all i did to mine dave was add a 100amp 3wire alt, new set of vette ramhorns<thanks to vortec cruiser, put in a new set of front springs that have NO shims, welded my castor shims to the axle housing . the centerpin you spotted at rubithon was broke again so i think taking the shims out of the spring pack solved that. also i put srw hubs back on the 14bolt relocated my caliper brackets ..... and..... put 1.5 " spacers on the front.... i wanted the my width back to be proportional to the extra 7" of length its getting and 42,s

clints got a fuel cell in back , we made a frame to mount it in..... moved his leafs back 7 inches mounting the shackle hangers on the back bumper....last but not least a comp cut on his (practice for mine.... oh ya, he got a set of sticky 40" maxis creepy crawlers so we dismounted his Irocs from his Beadlocks and remounted the stickies, that was almost a full day in itself

overall a fun vacation,,, be doing my links in a month to 6 wks i'm hoping

Had to sell it due to divorce.. I texted the guy who bought it 2 years ago.. Told him if he ever wanted to sell it, to call me first! He said he wants to keep it forever!

Yeah ..... back from the dead, might as well show the current form & your thoughts on the mods.
I am wanting to run 65" front & 64" rear WMS D60's on my 40.

rockthedog,

Do you recall what your driveline angles were with this setup?
Did you have any issues with vibrations at certain speeds/rpms?

I am building a similar project, FJ40, highway and off-road use, 60 flipped rear springs, GM 383 stroker, nv4500, atlas 2, D60 high pinion rear. As I currently have my driveline placed:

Measured driveshaft length is 24" (output flange to 1350 yoke)
Atlas 2 output is 4.1* down to the rear
Pinion pointed 23* up to TC output flange (Assuming a DC joint)
Net Driveshaft angle of 18.9*

Appreciate your input, Thanks

Hello J
You dragged this up from the dead. By Drive Line angle I guess you mean rear? If so iirc the pinion was set to around 1-2 degree less than straight and the CV was wherever it landed which would be standard for a CV drive line. The rig is far from this configuration now so I have no way to measure or reference other than memory.
Hope that helped if not I will check back. Good luck
Glenn
