Funny you should ask. I've finally found a bit of time here lately to work on it. I'm running the stainless hard lines for the transmission cooler, the back ends aren't finished yet, I've got to move the rear mount forward and offset the ends of the tubes, pics when that's wrapped up. Here are some pics of my current handywork.

Cool. It's the little things that take the most $ and time on a build. Especially one that sees street time.

Get on it! I wanna see some wheelin vids.

If you fuckers actually took a second to read the words rather than knee jerk reacting to the pics, you might have a clue what his plan is.

Got the other end figured out. If I did my figuring right they should be pretty closed to aimed right at the fittings on the trans. I can't take credit, the layout here at the back was my sons idea. I know that the two supports so close to each other looks like overkill but the fuel lines will be running above these lines and they'll need the support here. Those lines are up next.

Still working on the plumbing, slowly but surely. Wrapped up the fuel hard lines yesterday. The pic makes the fittings look deceptively close to the lower radiator hose. There's actually plenty of room however I am probably going to switch to a different fuel pump that'll allow me to use AN fittings and rotate the pump for the best orientation.

Well progress has been very slow. My employer went out of business and I was off work for about 1-1/2 months and we're still playing catch up. I've been working on the brake lines as funds allow.

One pic at a time sucks on meh phone but hey. I'm using the same length stainless flexes everywhere so I'll only have one spare to carry.

One more, I've got more time than cash so I fabbed up my own link tabs so the line can run down the upper rear link.

Got the ARB's installed in both axles. At my buddies urging I rerouted the air lines to a safer location. Due to the new style of ARB the line has to come from the other side and I couldn't do the "safety wire" trick. Regardless, the lines will be safer here. Not sure why the pic is upside down but you get the idea.

I got a call from the paint shop yesterday that the body was ready for paint. I went over to take a look and it looks great. I was told I should be able to pick it up on Friday. Things are moving right along.

And finally some color, this really feels like a milestone. I couldn't be happier with how it came out!

Thank you, I really don't care for the "comp cut" look. I think we just barely kept enough of the corner to avoid that. It's cut only as much as is needed for clearance and I wanted to keep the stock opening "shape".

That is kinda how I feel about the comp cut as well. I might have to see if I can copy your style cut once I get my final rear axle position.

Nothing worth pics but still chugging along. All of the susp and steering links are painted. I rebuilt all of the rear Ballistic Joints with the new updated Prothane races. Unfortunately one galled and is now a paperweight, new ones on the way. The struts all arrived back here from ORI today updated and resealed. Axles are complete including plumbing.
I started painting the frame but underestimated how much paint it'd take and ran out. More is on the way. Upside is that all of my crazy prep work paid off and despite it being my first time using an hvlp gun the results so far are great. I'll update again. When I have something pic worthy.

Lurking. Cool Build. To help prevent galling, I have been slitting the ends of my rod end bearings to clean the crud as it goes in. The slot is final finish filed to prevent cutting new threads. Kind of like a re-threading die/tap.

Luckily the rod end didn't gall when threading it into the link, that would have really brought the suck. I was rebuilding the joint (installing new races) and the joint itself galled when tightening it down with the spanner wrench:

Progress, got the axles back under it today. Sitting at full bump. If I can get the transmission and xfer case installed tomorrow then I might get the tub on too. I got the trans and xfer case mated back up today.
