how did you attach your bikini top?

I know this topic has come up before with jeep bikini tops on topless toys but I don't remember anyone mentioning how they attached it. Looking for ideas on either getting a rail or just sheetmetal screwing it on..

If its a Bestop bikini, then you can adapt the Jeep window mount kit to fit:

http://4crawler.cruiserpages.com/4x4...op/index.shtml

Or my old bikini was set up with a piece of 1" aluminum angle with snaps along the horizontal side to attach the bikini to and bolt holes in the vertical part to go into the backof the 4Runner cab/roof.

I cut a piece of Hobie front cross bar. It looks like an oval with a channel on one of the small ends. Drilled holes to bolt to cab. Slid piece of Hobie trampoline through channel. Tied other piece of trampoline to existing roll bar through existing grommets.

Just remember, some of us, ( like OOPS and I) were born way before Velcro was invented! I had to tie my shoes when I was a kid!

IN answer to Brandon's question, I'm surprised that no one has said " Put an arm thru each side and hook it in the back" !!

This is how I did mine. I used the FJ/CJ windshield channel, made aluminum brackets that attach the channel to the cab and a bow to support to bikini in the center. The trick is bending the channel to fit the cab without creasing and collasping it. This is the FJ-40 top.

My kid is turning 2, I dunno how many two year olds can tie their shoes! Velcro is nice

I picked up the channel for $20 at central today, I am sure I could have found something similiar at home depot but oh well. Now to bend it to the match the radius of the truck..

Hey Brandon, How did you mount your sholder belt to the cage? Drill and tap or did you weld a bungholio to it? I like that, no need for a racing type belt.
