Thoughts on steering box placement - hysteer.

Everyone is pretty comfortable about using the IFS steering box for a hysteer conversation and tapping the box for hydro assist.

My question is on my '89 hilux RHD I have been quoted $1850 Canadian for a IFS steering box. Which I'm obviously not going to pay.

Do you think I can mount the LHD IFS box on the inside of my frame rail?

I am running the TG hysteer kit. If I have to shorten the drag link to compansate for the pivot point moving inside the frame rail it shouldn't be a big deal should it?

Needs a provincial safety. The old push pull set up is worn out and wont pass. Would like to upgrade to hydro assist after the inspection is done.

Another option Iíve thought about is a fj60/80 from lhd truck mounted on the inside the frame rail on a rhd truck with pitman arm facing rear. It would just depend on clearance with motor and accessories.

Yes looks like he deleted it because he didnt get the answers he wanted. Doubt you could run it inside without interference with an engine accesory.

A RHD ifs box should be about $250-300 shipped.
