Different Toyota Carriers

I have searched and searched and have not found an answer.
Does Toyota (like other manufacturers) use a high gear carrier and low gear carrier in their differentials? I know there are different 3rd members for V6 and I4 trucks, that is not what I am asking. I know if I want to regear a Chevy from 3.07 to 4.89 I have to use a different carrier.
But I can't find if a 4.10 and 5.71 Toyota use the same carrier.

The V6 and HP carriers are the same. Toyota uses the same carrier regardless of gear ratio.

Toyota carriers are the same regardless of ratio. I would avoid the 5.71 gears if at all possible, they have a reputation for being weak

I find that those who think 5.71 gears are weak have never ran them. Sure if you run lot's of torque thru them while running 44" Boggers, you can strip the pinion, but you will do this with 4.10 as well. If you are breaking the ring and pinion, you need to go to one tons.

I have ran 5.71 with a locker and Lincoln spool while hauling 1.5 ton of rock up a steep and rocky hill several times a week for over a year. I broke a hub and motor mount and wore the tie rod ends out, but never hurt anything inside either axle. I was running Chevy spings with add-a-leaf on 31s.

I didn't know there was a 3.07 Toyota. I have only seen as high as 3.90 before. I guess that 3.07 would have to have a different carrier as the 4.10 gear is getting pretty thin.

In the 4wd or 2wd flavor? I've seen them in the 2wd (I've owned three separate ones), but never seen one in a 4wd housing.

it's worth noting that the 3.07 third member housing is also SIGNIFICANTLY different than your typical 4wd 8inch housing also.

The carrier in the factory 4.88 is normal and not offset. The diff housing however is offset and will not accept any gearset other than the 4.88 that came in them. The bearings and carrier are normal V6.

OP. The only Toyota diff that I am aware of that has a carrier break is the 8" clamshell front found in the front of the 03+ 4R, 05+ Tacoma, FJ cruiser, GX470, etc. Those are 3.73 and down, or 3.91 and up.

The carriers are still the same OOPS, Just housing and ring gear are different.
