Will it Bolt Up?

Will a A340F passenger side drop from a 3.4L bolt up to my 1981 22R? I've read so much about all the different trans and combos I'm not sure any more.

I was able to bolt a 2rz with a a34d 4 speed no puter auto to stacked mini truck tcases with an Inchworm prerunner adapter. The adapter has a 2 bolt patterns, one for a vertical tcase using the stock mounts, Toyota blew it here imo, tcases would get hung up on rocks. 10* clocking pattern gets the t cases up and a rear tcase mount ditching the low mounts can get you very close to a flat belly.

Pretty sure that the 2RZ Prerunner auto is the only setup the A34D was offered. So best to find what trans it is, ID plate on passenger side should have info.

Any options for adapter plates now that inchworm is gone?

The Inchworm pre runner housing replaces the tail housing on the a34d.
the a34d is 21 spline, so at the time this required a 21 spline input into the t case.
Anything stronger than a stock 3rz can kill the coupler quick imo,
Then the Trail Mart thing made the couplers unobtainable, never could get a straight story as to why the 21 spline coupler was not made anymore.
This was all 2007ish, That rig went to Nevada last year.
These days if I need mini truck axle parts I use cruiser outfitters and trail tough for sami junk.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place. I want a gear drive t case behind an auto but I doubt itís gonna happen. It looks like Iíll be using a T100 auto/t case combo.

You can run a gear drive case behind a T100 auto, but I think the chain drive cases are strong enough for 90% of people.

How do you get a gear drive case behind the T100 auto? Reason being I already have a gear drive case. I sold the truck I was going to build. It was a 4 cylinder. I bought a G54 and matching t case to use in my swap. I now have a V6 auto to build.

Not many options for a 3.0 V6. The only way I will use a GM transmission is if thereís a mullet motor in front of it. What are you running for engine?

My build is from early 2000s. Itís 4.3 vortec, 4l60e, dual gear drive cases 2.8/4.7 4:88s and ARBs in toy axles and 37s. Alcan leafs that I loved, broke a main leaf a week ago and thinking about replacing with atlas. My set up works great, so I donít really want to change it.

I am watching the builds with the new ecotec you can really make some power with these modern engines. Gm is all modular, the bell house is the same. AA makes an adapter or atlas bolts to it.

I like gm drivetrain with toy body. If I could afford it, 609s.

I run an original passenger drop 4cyl A340F and used the V6 adapter to replace the chain drive case when I did my dual cases.
