Makes sense, i would be afraid to run 40" reds on Toyota axles. At the same time, when you can just idle up things with out slipping a tire, it can be less stressful than trying to bang your way up things with lesser tires. You just have to really pay attention to being bound up or not. Which goes back to what we agreed on in the other thread about not using low low all the time.

I ran 37 reds on my samurai and did a lot of wheelin at our moonrocks (basically 25 grit sand paper) I broke an fj80 birf, a rear output, a driveline and a leaf spring in one spot at the same time the first trip I had the dual ultimate and the reds

I was just curious, I've been looking for tires for my 4runner and I keep seeing 40" iroks for cheap.........

From a crawling standpoint, I think it would be fine, I wheel pretty smart these days. But it would ruin all of the other aspects of what I use the rig for.

I would like the ability to run a set during early/powder snow season.

I would run 4d Irocks before 37 Reds doing what I do. Naches has the same type of rock.

The tire compound gives the reds way to much traction, especially once they are 50% or less.

Just trying to keep up with the Jones' in their cool kid tube chassis rigs.

And if you look close you will see that I was wearing my brain bucket!

That took a lot longer than most expected you held out forever. Gonna be cool to see a Stubbs buggy build! Especially if it retains much of your current drivetrain. Don't give a FAWK about another cookie cutter ls powered 60/14 bolt...(just kiddin kdub/drag queen!!)

Facebook??

Sorry, but Pirate is dead and slowly rotting... General, if anywhere here. You'll probably want the exposure to the few experienced tube car people still around here when you have questions or wanna explore ideas.
