good to hear...the damn top plate was nearly a can opener for my right side last year

He brought a cooler full of booze and a big steak for you last time.

Is all of Strawberry open now? I'd like to take my 4runner up there.

Just got back from Barrett, fun trail! Camping at Barrett is really nice. My truck fit through the gate with an inch to spare at 84 3/4" wide. Interesting how different the trail is running it back out to the trail head, almost felt like a different trail all together.

Thanks Mike! How is it? I heard they blasted the big rock that youd almost smash your door on? Wondering if I can get my 4runner on 33s with no sliders up there to camp

Hi Brain, door smasher rock isn't an issue anymore. Your 4Runner will be fine.

My Dad scrapped the whole side of his Cherokee on that rock. That was his first real dent and he was pissed all weekend. For some reason we had a heck of a time there. I ended up going first and helping the other with a strap or winch.

only fish in the mountains are trout. Smallish Brook trout in the lake and not many of them. There are several other lakes nearby to fish. I only tried the one right above and didn't catch much.

Bring fly fishing gear to Barrett and you may have more luck catching something.

agreed...I always catch a few from the bank with a fly rod but the same out on a floater of some sort would do much better.
