Mormon Emigrant Trail 2019/20

That time of year.
the gate on the Highway 88 end was closed yesterday. Snow started falling just after lunch Tuesday and there should be a foot or more by the end of the day even down to the lake.
will try to head up later today after work

went up a little ways on Thursday, Took Bonetti out to the end. No tracks, just beautiful powder to play in.

Went up Silverfork to MET last night. was very deep (at least 30" of powder) and there were zero tracks and just two of us. Made it to MET about 8:30 and MET is packed solid all the way down to the lake. 2WD from there.

Nor cal 4x4 and nor cal 4x4 recovery pages are the ones that seem to routinely post pics.
Also in ig if you search #met and different variations of mormon immigrant, snow wheeling you can find some cool shir.
Yes, I often have a lot of free time at work.

Need another cold storm to roll thru. Snow line is past North South rd yesterday morning. It was raining up there and didn't turn into snow showers till the top of the mountain and that was mostly half and half. Over all a good trip though. Did run into a group trying to get to hwy88 on the way down. let them know they werent going far in a stock 4runner with street tires and that the gate is closed. Mentioned the big ass sign at the bottom of the road that says road is closed and no access to hwy 88. They said they never saw it. Jesus Christ people how do you miss that. It was funny when the dudes wife yelled "see I told you" while she rolled her eyes at him. lol
