Thumbs up Another thumbs up for BVR!

We made the trip to BVR last weekend to see what all the fuss was about. The short version is put it on your list, its flat AWESOME!

Here's some pic's we took along the way. You don't need a rock buggy to have fun there. You have lots and lots of SPACE to wheel and enjoy.

Literally miles of trails like this that a regular Jeep will do just fine on. Plenty of room to turn around and go back if it gets too rough. Trail striping is a possibility depending on how deep you want to go.

On this trail you my need lockers and some amour. This was an easier section of it.

We made about 40 miles over the weekend. Probably half the places we went had no fresh tracks or signs that anyone had been there in years. We found an awesome lookout rock with a perfect place for a noon day lunch. My altimeter showed 1280' elevation, that's pretty high up for that area. We could see probably 10 miles from up there.

As we were heading out Jill showed up so we introduced ourselves. She was super nice and seem genuinely interested that we enjoyed our stay. During the chat we mentioned that we had found the path that led to Hogeye Creek in the NE corner of her property. She said she had been looking for that path.

Normally I take a Garmin csx60 and track everything. I have been having a lot of luck with RiderX and Backcountry Nav so I didn't take the Garmin. Of course in the heavy tree's and hills the tablet's GPS couldn't keep locked onto the satellites. I lost a lot of good photo's/waypoints when the tablet lost the lock so take your best GPS set and don't expect your phone/tablet to do the job.

Mountain bikes would be great here as well on access roads assuming you have the leg to run them.

While we did use bug spray we didn't see a single tick or chigger. Gnats were everywhere.

I will post some more pic's and try to get some video up. I have about 7 miles of gpx that includes some of the trail to Hogeye if anyone is interested.

Here's a big thumbs up to Roland for getting this new park open to us!

Thank you for the post, I need to get up there soon.

EDIT: I see the bigger trails now, and see they only have 15a hookups.

Here's a map I made of the trails we have so far. There obviously will be many more added as we explore new areas, but we will likely do more of that in the fall when it cools down a little. Enjoy!

Here's a few pictures of some recent action...

This one is of a nasty ledge on Tackett creek. It has finally been driven without a winch! There is a go around to the left....

Doc wasn't so lucky!

This little sami kept up just fine, but i bet he drove his ass off!

The main vein claimed a victim...no damage done and we were moving again in no time.

Now that it's cooling down a little we're going to work on some more three and two rated trails. We've been getting quite a bit of traffic and it is getting easier to find the lines.

We're adding a fall schedule and planning a new year's blowout party/weekend with some music and a friendly little hill climb competition. More details to come soon!!!

There are 20 trails now and still cutting more..some super extreme and some a little milder. We added a drop box at the gate and you can wheel any weekend now. You will have to call and reserve rooms if you want to stay in the lodge. Soon we will be adding a few events for later this year. The pool will be opening back up real soon and business is good...

How much traffic have the trails had since this time last year when everything was under water? Is the place still up for sale? I would like to make it back maybe this fall.

There has been quite a bit of traffic, plenty of rubber down now and the moss is knocked off the rocks. I have done a helluva lot of trimming to get rid of the eye slappers too. Starting work on a whole other face of a mountain now , blazing new trails and just starting to find my way around there....probably 500 acres, with some fun, long climbs. Anyone interested in doing some exploring out there hit me up and I can tell you how to access...
